Background
Following in his father’s footsteps, Tristan Young has been a keen amateur photographer ever since he was young (pardon the pun).
Working as a news journalist for more than 30 years has meant a close association with photography, but while he enjoys viewing news, street and reportage photography, outdoor photography is his particular passion. Seascapes, grand vistas and astro are particular favourites, however, a career writing about the automotive industry has also left its mark.
Kit
For a long time Tristan used Canon kit, but more recently switched to Sony and now, for the most part, uses an A7 R V.
However, he also has a small collection of film cameras, including his father’s Olympus OM-1, which are used occasionally.
